Development

Most of my extensive instructional design background has involved creating engaging instructor-led training (ILT), virtual ILT (vILT), and blended learning solutions on a wide variety of technology for public and private global technology companies. My forte is translating complex functionality into easily understood information for users.

CCMS Foundation Training Workbook

This was the second course in the vILT curriculum I created for an Education department’s transformation from Word-based course development to a component content management system (CCMS). This course focused on effectively using the new IXIASOFT and Oxygen XML editor tools and a single content repository to create learner Workbooks and generate the output as a PDF.

I designed this course to follow new departmental course development business processes, with hands-on student exercises that used examples/data of real-life courses in training scenarios to help facilitate student learning.

IDs were able to apply learning to the production environment immediately after training.

M3: Developing in IT Enterprise Collaborator (IEC) Training Workbook

This highly technical course was the third course in an ILT curriculum that taught users how to create and deploy XML files (maps) that acted as business messages between the company's software and their client's software. During the SME's review of the materials, he commented that he "learned a few new things" because of the level of detail and clarity of content I incorporated into the course.

New Functionality for EDI Orders

I created this "just in time" (JIT) training document to inform Sales users about new order fulfillment functionality that was being made available to participating electronic data interchange (EDI) customers. Sales teams were able to use the content to help guide EDI customers and to identify which setting the customers wanted to place on their accounts for future order processing.
